A custom expedition is exactly what it sounds like: we design the trip around what you and your team actually want, instead of fitting you into a scheduled group departure.
Some of what we've built for past clients: private-guided ascents of Ojos del Salado for family groups where not everyone is climbing to the summit; multi-peak Atacama traverses linking Tres Cruces, Incahuasi and Ojos across three weeks; corporate leadership programs combining high-altitude climbing with reflection sessions; father-daughter expeditions with mixed strengths; and expeditions to peaks well outside the Atacama — Aconcagua, Patagonia, and beyond — on request.
The $500 consultation deposit reserves scoping time with Steve and Fena. It's non-refundable, but it credits in full toward your final expedition price if you go.
A sample itinerary — real dates and rest days flex around weather, acclimatization, and how each climber is moving. Fena adapts the plan on the mountain.

Once your $500 consultation deposit is paid, Steve and Fena reserve time on the calendar to talk through the expedition. Usually 30–60 minutes on Zoom or phone.
Working from your goals, we draft a day-by-day itinerary, guide roster, logistics plan, and a full price quote. Multi-peak trips, private-guided ascents, family-friendly programs with mixed-strength climbers — all possible.
If you love the plan, you pay the balance of the standard $1,500 reservation deposit (so total deposit is $2,000) to lock the dates. Balance of the expedition cost is invoiced 90 days before departure.
Everything from here forward runs like a standard Pan American Adventures expedition: guide-led logistics, meals, permits, safety plan, satellite comms, and Fena on the rope.
